This is NOT a joke; primate research is serious. In the mid-1960s, I came to be involved with an immature research subject quite by accident. Dealing with a curious primate was a challenge I am not likely to forget. Monkey's, even the youthful, can teach adult humans simple life lessons, say about right/wrong choices for instance. Woe be it to he who makes the wrong one.
Well brian it looks like your posted link answered your question as in the article prof as matsuzawa stated ''The chimps all go to the testing room on their own free will and they love to do so'',
I don't remember the percentage however aren't chimps around 99% of human DNA comparatively?

"We could just go out and buy them, obviously, but one of the things we've trying to really adhere to is making sure that our funds actually go out to the orangutans in need."
Orangutans in need?
They MUST have iPods for FaceTime - but they can destroy it in 15 seconds.
Will the zoos manage to create a new generation of "couch potato" monkeys?*
Why do they need to be entertained with $900 computers?
I thought it was truly amazing how a chimp could memorize numbers around a half a second, before they were all blanked, and the chimp can show how he can touch the correct squares in a very short period of time. Amazing.
