Default Mommie elephant saves baby

Not sure why this writer is so shocked to see a mother so concerned with saving her baby. Moms of most species seem to go into high gear when their babies are in danger. These pictures are great.

If you look across the net, that photographer must have sold the photos a number of times. BTW, a mother elephant is a "cow" not a "mommie"... Wouldn't mention it except for the tendency people have to anthropomorphize animals and lose perspective.
