Saw the artilce and video and pics on the SUN website..Looks like a elephant(but furry like a mammoth) in shape to me...The river seems rather wide in comparison to the trees on the rivers edge... Here the link..

That video footage is about as believable as the tooth fairy.

Just once I'd like to see something other than grainy fuzzy footage of what appears to be <insert_favorite_paranormal_animal here>.

Trust the Russians to come up with something as ludicrous as this...

One single animal? It doesn't look like this at all:

Actually at end of video when animal turns it head...the ear looks like a rather large fury elephant ear...not a small grizzly bear ear..Those trees on the rivers edge are probabably 75-120 ft tall if not taller...depending on the species....The river in scale to the trees makes the animal seem rather large.

Also what looks like a trunk curves inward, the mammoth's tusks curve out and away from the body.

Looking close at the video's (around 0:20) a few times the "tusks/trunk" sways (independent to the thing walking).

Truthfully looks more like a black/brown bear carrying a salmon or other large fish. (probably to feed her young).

I'm guessing a bear carrying a fish.

But anything published in the Sun has about the same credibility as any other Rupert Murdoch news source.

But this is pretty cool: Hyde Park Mastodon Unearthed! in my hometown neighborhood

It's not a mammoth as the last of them died out on Wrangel Island around 4,000 years ago.

Some scientists think that in about five years that they may have one clone as that would really be awesome to see as it would be like journeying thru a time warp back to the ancient Pleistocene epoch .

I watched that special on TV many years ago about raising the wooly mammoth and that the plan was to clone one.

Sure hope it works, they are magnificent animals.

So this "mammoth" managed to re-appear right where someone with a camera and a nicely framed shot was standing?

Right.

The filmers were supposedly survering for a road into unexplored areas of Siberia....Even scientist say that Siberia is so vast and unexplored that it is plausible that some still exist. Who knows...I think it more plausible that a few pockets of mammoth exist as to Big Foot or Yeti........Maybe the Yeti are herding the Mammoths...LOL
