This guy (I think it is a green heron) knows how to fish. He is smart, persistent and patient. These qualities are rewarded.

LOL, not in my pond! We get blue herons after my goldfish, so we have to shoo them away. I keep a net over my pond to keep them out, too. I will admit that green heron was fun to watch, though. Very clever!

Well, not all ponds are not privately owned.

My neighbor across the alley has to contend with raccoons who are after her koi, I know it can be frustrating but they're just trying to make a living.

The green heron was pretty smart, though.

there is a youtube video where a crow is on top of a snow covered roof and he grabs a lid off of something, jumps on it and slides down the roof, and he does this three or four times

First thanks OP, for that video.

I like to feed the birds where I live; mostly black capped & chestnut-backed chickadees. After watching them, I think 'bird-brain' is one of the biggest misnomers of all time (also "eats like a bird").
