That is fascinating! It is a mystery how they know what to select and how to design their homes. The live eagle cam showed the parents raising the edges of the nest once the eaglets started scrambling around.

I don't have anything interesting to add to this thread.

There is a special running on some PBS stations in my area about Bird of Paradise and other Rain Forest birds.
The BoP segment was so crazy I wouldnt have believed if I didnt see it. He makes a very elaborate and groovy bachelor pad in hopes of attracting of female bird, when he does, he tries to entice the birdlette by strutting his stuff!
Hmmmmm . . . . Sounds like another species we are aware of ?
