I rarely watch Animal planet, but I briefly turned to the channel a few minutes ago. I didn't come in at the beginning, but researchers had set up a remote control camera that could see at night, and were watching a scene on a river bank somewhere in Africa in which crocodiles and a pack of Hyenas were having a stand off over the carcass of a large animal. I don't know what kind of animal it was. While the crocodiles were away the Hyenas showed up. Then a crocodile came back and tried to scare the Hyenas away, but couldn't. Eventually over 50, that's fifty crocodiles showed up and finally caused the Hyenas to back off. But then they came back. And then all of the crocodiles and the Hyenas suddenly took off when a solitary male lion showed up. But the lion wasn't interested in feeding and left. Apparently the researchers had never seen anything like this before and were as fascinated as I was.
