Im pretty certain if male lions lived in North America, they could take out a grizzly.

The Honey Badger? It may lose because of it's size, but it will fight animals much larger than itself.

How about a large timber wolf? They can get rather large, but they tend to attack in packs and not one on one.

Honey badgers are too small, they would have trouble against large dogs, let alone a grizzly bear.

Even in a pack, I would still favor the bear over the timber wolves. Or course 1-on-1 the wolf would stand no chance against a grizzly bear or any bear species for that matter.

Depends on the age, sex, size, number of wolves, degree of hunger, etc. of the animals. Generally, s prime boar grizzly of at least average size wins the confrontation. These bears routinely steal kills from wolves. Face offs with female bears or sub adult males can have different results. Grizzly/Wolf relationships have been studied for years, there is no one size fits all situations answer. Below is a good doc. that answers some of the questions. Interesting scene near the end where a big boar strolls casually through the middle of a pack with 14 wolves without fear, and then later takes over their elk kill.
