Everything I've read about them says they stay in the nest a little more than three weeks so they'll be around for about 2 more weeks or so.
It's been fun watching them. I hope both will make it to maturity. One is a little bit smaller than the other but still seems healthy. I know they look big in the pictures but they are only about 1.5 inches.

I agree. I love reading this thread and checking up on the excellent pictures you're taking Marino. I hope you get some of them as they lose the pin feather look, and start to fledge out.

I'm home from work today and it's beautiful outside so I took the opportunity to take a new picture. The kids are growing fast and are getting more active. Now I can watch them hang their little butts outside the nest to poop, but sometimes they miss. Mom no longer stays at the nest but keeps an eye on things from nearby.
She fed them a few minutes ago and is off again getting more food. Mom hovers around the nest for a few minutes I think to make sure no one is watching before she lands to feed them. She does this about every 30 minutes or so. There's little time for her to take a nap, LOL. The smaller of the two makes sure he/she gets a it's fair share whenever mom stops by to feed. The nest is getting a bit crowed now but it's designed to stretch as the nestlings grow.

Thanks marino....they look healthy and the nest looks really cozy. Just a few weeks they'll be gone, so enjoy.

What a wonderful record you are keeping Marino. This will keep for the ages. I can't wait to see your future pictures, and the colors in their feathering. Hope you can catch some pictures of them trying out their first flight attempts.
