Just a cat working the graveyard shift. Making sure your neighborhood is secure.

Part-long-haired, light-colored domestic cat. Ask around and see if it belongs to one of your neighbors. Looks as if he or she could use a good meal.

If this cat is feral, many areas have non-profit groups which trap-neuter/spay/release cats who cannot be successfully domesticated. The cats also get basic vaccinations and a check-up and treatment of any underlying health problems. This helps control the overabundant production of feral kittens, only about 25% of which survive even their first year, sadly... and also extends the lifespan of the neutered/vaccinated cats.

So check with your local vet and/or animal control or humane society, if this cat turns out to be abandoned or feral. Many abandoned cats can be gentled and make wonderful, affectionate pets, given caring homes.

The thing in the upper right corner with the bright eyes sure looks a lot bigger than the little white kitty that walked through the picture.

The OP has stated those are reflectors near the driveway.

Yea. A mountain lion is VERY distinctive. The pace was a dead giveaway as is the tail set. Mountain lions are also higher in the haunches amongst other things. Puddy tat. Seen my share of lions and dis ain't one.

That's one long house cat. LOL. Are you close to the dismal swamp area? There's no telling what kind of animals are out there. It could have come from the swamp. Yikes.

RosemaryT, did you get your dog out there for size comparison? How far apart are the cracks in the pavement?

Is it a kitty? Or something bigger?

When I first watched, I saw a housecat. Now I've come back to look again, and am less certain.

I did put Teddy out there. She actually looked smaller than the cat (or whatever it is). I recorded the video and accidentally erased it. I'll measure the cracks next.

I'm obviously unsure but I don't think it's a regular house cat.

I'm not very close to the dismal swamp but I am on a massive swamp off the Nansemond River. Lots of wildlife out here.

Male cats that have not been neutered when young can be double the size of some females. I've seen male feral cats that are huge.

Feed it something it is starving.
My vote is DSH stray or feral.
