I see a lot of Mesquites out in the country around my area of Pittsburgh, but not so much in the city itself. Probably too much pollution in the city. I will say the ones I am seeing out of the city are HUGE! Tons of them, but they don't seem to attack me for some reason. I am glad of that since they are just giant.

I just read about a species of giant, non-biting mosquito that has recently been spotted in the US. I couldn't find a link, but here's a link to craneflys which are another possibility.
I'd be glad to send you plenty of skeeters from Kentucky. Have to spray a fogger in the front yard to be able to sit on teh porch for a while
