I doubt your cats will even notice them. They are no bigger than a large mosquito. They would probably be more interested in the water and container than the brine shrimp.
My son got some when he was 5 or so. They are pretty uninteresting. But it was ok, hatching the eggs and watching them grow a little. But after a week lost interest.
When we traveled across the country in car we stopped at the Great Salt Lake outside of Salt Lake City, Utah. We decided since were there we had to try swimming in the lake. Supposedly you can float really easily because of the high salt levels and it makes you really bouyant. Be didn't get into water deeper than our knees however because water was disgusting and full of those brine shrimp. It's about the only thing that can live in that water. Plus we has mosquito bites that had been scratched and salt water stung.
