Here is another Continental Divide Trail YouTuber I have been watching a lot of. JeniferJourneys, here she is hiking on the Ridge line of the Continental Divide in Colorado. She gets some amazing scenery.
He is a good hiker. I have been subscribed to him for years. But I think I stopped watching him regularly when he started doing some political rants while hiking. Which was kind of a turn off. The last thing I want to hear is politics while I'm trying to enjoy a hiking video. The second reason I don't watch him much is because he is one of those hikers who hike the AT and no other trail. I don't understand why anyone would want to just hike the same trail over and over again.
Another YouTube hiker who does that is Craig Mains aka Hawk. I love his videos, but he just can't seem to get off the AT. Last year he announced plans to hike the PCT, but he ended up hiking the AT again. This year he announced plans to hike the CDT, but he did the AT yet again. I have had to stop watching him, until he decides to try something new. But if you like Quicksand, you should probably check out Hawk's videos as well.
I don't know how I feel about this channel, but this is a new channel I just found. Infinite Adventure. They are a cute couple and are kind of funny. For anyone who likes hyper speed up hikes this might be a channel for you. But I don't know how I feel about them sending an SOS message to get a helicopter to escort them off a mountain. They do get some nice scenery though, even if it's all mostly in time lapse.
Thanks for those suggestions. I subscribed to Hiking America right away. I like that they are hiking some more obscure trails. It should be interesting to see them try to hike in North Dakota in October. I wonder if they know what they are getting into. I also subbed to Chris Berry, but it doesn't look like he is still making videos. Maybe he will do some more hiking in the future. Great suggestions.
I hear you Cloudy, and I have to admit that I did get slightly put off by Quicksand. In one of the videos they were trying to camp and some other people showed up a little late (9pm) and he talked about how he almost got in a fight with them over the fact that they might be making noise while they (Craig (Hawk) and Quicksand) were trying to sleep. I don't know if you saw that episode or not, but Quicksand was talking about how the AT was his home and that these people from this "yuppy" town didn't have the right to be up there at the camp site disturbing him, etc. I don't know, it just didn't seem like a fair view, and I can totally relate to not wanting to hear ANYTHING about politics during a hike!!
I have been watching Craig Mains and enjoying him too. These guys were both new to me this year, as was watching thru hikes on the AT. I LOVE hiking, just never got into the Youtube videos until this past year or two. I think they're fun to watch and beat the hell out of a lot of other stuff on TV.

LOL, when I saw that Quicksand was going to start the CDT, I decided to give him a second shot. But I have a bad feeling about it. He is popular though, with over 300,000 subscribers. I'm not sure why he is that popular, but maybe I will find out when I watch him hike the CDT
Hawk is amazing. But I've had to stop watching him, simply because I got tired of watching him just walk back and forth on the AT. I was really looking forward to seeing him hike the CDT this year. But that never happened, just like his PCT hike last year never happened. I wonder if he will ever do any other trail then the AT. His videos are top notch though, and it will be great to see him hike other trails, if he ever does.

Yes, I really like Hawk's style. I prefer someone walking along with the camera, versus the back and forth setups like Quicksand does so he can film himself hiking. It makes me tired just thinking about.
It's funny because both Hawk and Quicksand talk about how they are tree guys and forest guys, etc. and they are doubting the desert portion of the hiking it seems (as far as those other trails go). I think I can relate to the security of all that water on the AT.
But we'll see - I would watch either of them on a different trail for sure!
