I love to watch hiking channels on YouTube. I was just wondering if anybody else does, and if you have any favorite YouTube hiking videos you'd like to share. Especially smaller, lesser known channels. Everybody knows Dixie, HomemadeWanderlust. But I would love to hear recommendations for smaller channels to watch.

These are a couple of thru hikers I'm currently watching.

A relatively new channel is Meandering.MeganB She is a furrowed airline worker who just started a hike of the Foothills Trail in North Carolina in preparation for an Appalachian Trail thru hike. She films pretty nice hiking videos.

Another channel I watch is Daisy Hikes. I don't know what she does. She just seems to hike non-stop from trail to trail, and she doesn't use a tent. She just sleeps out on the ground. Nothing really seems to stop her.

Not quite hiking for the sake of hiking, but more for the exploration of geological features: Nick Zentner's "Nick on the Fly" series from last summer. Nick is a geology professor in WA who is a master at communicating with a YouTube audience, and he put together a series of short hikes in the WA mountains during the pandemic summer. It was a real treat to be able to follow his trips while we were in lockdown.

It makes you sad to learn that people go hiking?

Oh his channel does look interesting. I'll definitely check out those hikes. Thanks.

If people uploading hiking videos to YouTube, bothers you that much, I think you have a problem. Just saying. You might want to get some help for it.

We enjoyed this video when we came upon it a couple of months ago- It's two young folks doing some serious hiking. The name of their channel on YouTube is TheOutdoorGearReview, so maybe some or many of their videos are doing gear review, but this one doesn't noticeably do so.

And we really enjoy this guy. He's so honestly enthusiastic. The videos are not always hiking, but when he does hike, he really goes on some adventures.

Nice way to explore and share. A good use for YouTube, imho.

We watched this guy last evening. Learned something and enjoyed his easy banter. Thanks for sharing.

Those look like interesting channels. I will check them out. I like those type of outdoor adventure channels too. For off-roading backpacking videos, I really like SUV RVing. He gets to some amazing places.

Ok then, I guess I'll say that anyone who posts videos of hiking to youtube, or watches them, has a problem and they need to get help for it. Like maybe get outside and go hiking...and leave the safety blanket and pacifier at home.
