I love mules and most people think I'm crazy for that. One day, I hope to have enough land to support a mule. I like them because of their ears and because they won't let you work them into the ground. That strikes me as pretty smart. Mind you, horses are gorgeous and donkeys are cute, but mules are my favorite. Anyone else in the world like mules as much as I do?

I once read an article about nice mules are to have! They are less stubborn than a donkey, and more sure-footed than a horse. I hope you get a mule someday!

Unfortunately, I'm quite allergic, but I do simply adore seeing the creatures at fairs and such.

fjtee,
This is Jamie, I love mules. my father was a horse trainer for 50 years or so. We had the privilage of working with alot of different breeds of horses. I show quaterhorses now. My husband and I also have 5 gaited horse we use for trail riding and field trials. But, I have to say that one of my favorite animals is a mule. We trained a mule named Sparky. He was spectacular. He loved Redman chewing tobacco. Funniest thing. His owner would bring it to him every day, and he would only eat that particular brand. He was so smart though. It is true, I believe that once a mule learns something they never forget it. The only down side to this is, if they have a bad experience they don't forget that either. We took Sparky to the world mule show and that was a great treat. This has been 12 years ago but still one of my fondest memories. It was a great time, and I am "snooty" AQHA horse show person. Mules are also good for keeping wild dogs and coyoties out of your pasture.

The farm where we board our horses has a few mules in the pasture as well. The one mule is quite well-trained and has been used by the owner's son for mounted shooting demonstrations. My daughter had fun riding him last summer and he actually went over a few low jumps for her. He can be very nasty to any new horses put in the pasture though.

Hi,
I actually had a few mules when my step-mom was married to this guy. Way back! But we had a few in the barn and in the field. They were so sweet and gentle, I loved them. I liked to go in the field and play with them! it was fun! But you are far from crazy for liking mules, A lot of people think i am crazy for like Octopuses,Owls, and other weird animals like that but its ok!
I want to be a Vet. Tech so that is why I love all sorts of critters!
