Another interesting Discover Magazine article about 20 things most don't know about Bees. A few of the 20 things i liked were:

#2 If there is a shortage of food in the Hive the female Workers kick the lazy male Gigolo's (Drones) out out on their butts.

#6 That Honey Bees can distinguish Human Faces.

#11 That Honey never spoils.

Default 20 Things You Didn't Know About Bees

Here are more things: Bee Pollen [rpdiced by the bees is a complete food, highly alkaline. One could live on nothing else. There are many sources. Alkaline foods are needed by the body cells. Start wiht 1/4 tsp of bee pollen if you are not allergic to bees. Another product produced by the bees, is ROYAL JELLY very nutritious to consume If you are not allergic to bees. ..... the reasons why honey bees are dying is because they for many many years started to have to use strong pesticides and herbicides for the genetically modified foods, they have been dying for too long, just that no one wanted to alarm the public. THEN the EPA started to use something so LETHAL, it is killing all the good and beneficial insects as well. The EPA went to the bug people and asked why the HONEY BEES are dying so fast, they were told why, this is about 4 or more years ago and the EPA refuses to stop using this MOST TOXIC CHEMICAL of the crops It is the same toxic chemical that they use to kill off the TERMITES. Called NICOTINE SPRAYS. SO it is NOT a virus that is killing them a governmental cover-up, it is this LETHAL BREW called NICOTINE. ABUSE to our most valuable insecet the HONEY BEE. Government and EPA do not want to stop this MASS MURDER and ABUSE of the honey bees. So there you have it the corrpution and death of the valuable honey bees.

Default 22 THings You Don't Know About Bees

THey sell Bee Products in the stores, and catalogs, I love Bee Pollen, Royal Jelly, Propolis and of course HONEY. I put honey on my cereal oatmeal, teas and did you know you can BLEACH your FACE with HONEY, yes, so if you need to whiten up , get your honey jar out. THere are more things about honey and I will tell you later, but Bee Pollen has more VITAMINS and MINERALS than any MULTI VITAMIN they sell, so being natural it is better for you... buzzing around

I think they still are unsure whats causing Colony Colapse Disorder whether it's mites, pesticides and a virus etc... I see that Bats are dying off in record numbers alsoespecially in the northeast USA. Scientists isolated a new fungus simular to Geomyces that is killing them.
