New Ice Core evidence suggests that the East and West Antartic Ice Sheets are far more dynamic and less stable than assumed in the past. This indicates that the ice can melt far faster than previously thought and raise ocean levels well over 100 feet; devastating most major coastal cities, Bangladesh and much of Florida.

Not all geologicaly significant events require geologic time to happen. Living in New Mexico instead of lowland New Hampshire is looking better and better.
I think it's too late no matter what we collectively do as a species to stop the melting; IMHO we are already at the tipping point where these events will be irreversible and accelerating into a feedback loop that will cut the time involved to a few centuries at best.
