Default Hello All Need Help
Hi
I was cleaning out the house the other day and found something
its a ABSTRACT OF TITLE for Thomas County Nebraska
now I am in Rock Island IL.....so to me i want to find out more about this.
it starts in May 27 1887 with August Rinell & Betty Rinell to Grand Island And Wyoming Central Rail Road Company.

and goes all the way to 1945 the name on it at that time is W. E. Harris.
the Bond Abstracter is Fred Arnholt. And the title is for lots 17,18, and 19 block 7 original town of Halsey NE
what i need to know is how can I find out more about this

Hi Larry,
An Abstract of Title is the history of a particular parcel of land. It was used to verify ownership and a "clean" title when land was transfered between parties. Now days, Title Insurance has replaced the Abstract. The only value is the curiosity factor and educational factor. Unless it is for a "famous" property, it is just something cool to look over and see the history.
