Papillion has been swarmed with developers lol, it borders lavista, in which lavista borders ralston and south Omaha..

Papillion is experiencing a ridiculous growth rate, I predict that by 2010 the city will have a minimum 26,000 people.. The 2006 estimate is just over 21,000.. With the ever increasing rate of growth of sarpy county, 30,000 people for 2010 would not be a surprise.

Papillion and LaVista seem to have great cooperation in everything they do - so no in fighting to slow things down... With both of them working together and Gretna also seeing growth, will be interesting to see how close Papillion and Gretna are to each other by 2010.

I always did like Papillion/LaVista area... It just looks nicer down there and La Mesa Mexican Food across from Target is "da bomb" Also this part of the Metro is in Sarpy county, so no wheel tax and its ok to keep my Iguana!

If we ever decide 2 move back It will def be to LaVista/Papillion or Bellevue!

According to the population estimates released in 2007 the 3 main counties of the 8 metro counties breaks down like this..

Douglas grew by 5,500
Sarpy grew by 4,000
Pottawattie county is completely messed up right now by the bureau and so its up in the air now as to how much it is growing by, usually when this happens they go conservative and it grows faster than their messed up guestimate..

The metro as a whole grew estimated by about 10,000 and lincoln's by 4,000
in that year.. Not too shabby..

What amazes me is almost an even split between Douglas and Sarpy - crazy... what I really like is the growth in Sarpy appears to be healthy growth and at the same time all the Urban revitalization in Omaha between downtown and midtown... neither piece of growth appears to be pulling from the other.... while at the same time a few of the smaller towns like Ashland continue to revitalize - to me a great balance of all types of living (Urban, Suburban, and Rural)...
