My question is how are the winters in norfolk, are they sub zero?
Summers?
My son and I are narrowing our places to move and have come down to either Nebraska or Florida.
Has anyone on the forum lived in Florida and if so what is your take?

Florida extreme heat
North and West pats of Nebraska extreme cold
Southeast Nebraska still pretty cold

You are going to get an extreme some where, you have to decide if you want to deal with
extreme heat or extreme cold.

I always thought extreme heat would be better but I am getting older and not sure after spending
last weekend in Oklahoma of high 90s with little to no wind.

When you say North and West extreme cold what sort of averages are you talking -20% or?

And does the wind blow alot in the North east?

-20 does happen, I have even seen -60 with windchill included but rarely.
But in January/Febuary you can have a 30+ days where the high doesn't get above 32 and the low will be -10 to +10.

But all jokes aside..

I would consider Norfolk to have "extreme cold", but then again I am a Florida native. Also, the heat here in Florida is nowhere near as bad as it was in Norfolk. Well it depends on your liking. Norfolk has what I would describe as a "dry heat" compared to Florida's humidity. If you have 90 degrees in both places it would feel hotter in Nebraska IMO.

Nebraska has: Cold and windy (snowy sometimes) winters
Hot and humid summers
Gorgeous falls and springs

And, as the saying goes: If you don't like the weather, just wait a minute, it will change!

A dryer heat is hotter than a humid heat? That's a first...
