low property taxes land 10-20mins away from lincoln (Hickman: real estate, home)

hi all please help me ..... Im considering buying farm land to build a dream home to in lincoln or nearby..want to stay away from tremendous property tax .... preferrable southside =-)....... at the same time does anyone know what the property taxes are like building a home in these type of land???????? i prefer cheap cheap property taxes and acre =-) .. does anyone know a friend/person who live near this side of town that currently owning tremendous farm land that ok of selling to me about 5acre or less for a good price what is consider the right price per acre near southside of lincoln?????????? looking forward to hear from you guys

First thing is that you are going in the wrong direction. Land south of Lincoln will not be cheap as there seems to be a draw to this area. Also you will need to look into all of the different permits that you will need if you do find land that you want at the price you are looking for. I wish that is was as easy as going out and buying the land then building on it as you want, but those days are long gone. Most of the counties around Lincoln would have all of the same permits needed as well. So getting within 10-20 minutes of Lincoln will be very hard to do.

i've checked Martell Nebraska, Roca, Hickman, Bennet, all are as close as i can get within 20mins of lincoln southside and so far the price is at least 36k an acre or above ...... i know nothing about land here and not sure if that the right price or not...

Well I am from way out western part of Nebraska, but now live in the Southeast corner of Nebraska. If you want land that sells for about $1000.00 to $2000.00 per acre then you need to go to the western part of Nebraska. Going south of Lincoln you are going into what is called prime real estate areas. You will have to pay a very high dollar per acre compared to more rural areas of Nebraska. If the 36k is to high for you then you might have to move a bit farther from Lincoln.
