Fresno, California. Which isn't much different than a lot of major cities in California. Seriously. The State is in crisis.

Hispanic people won't be a problem because many small towns are all white.
Crime? Well crime is relative isn't it? WHile your minister is molesting your daughter, and the environment is filling up with toxins from church funded corporations, you can pray to God that you won't notice.
I always find it amazing that Christians like this run away from what they don't like. Jesus actually went the other way and walked directly into what he didn't like and tried to heal with love.
Oh and Godless Liberals taught you how to use things like Language, and gave you the two day weekend. There is life outside of the Bible.
In fact, there are even Godless Liberals in Nebraska!!! Oh yeah. Lincoln is full of them. So, be sure your daughter NEVER goes there.
(Of course your daughter's opinion about this would be interesting. She's probably running a meth lab and making money as a porn star right under your nose, as is the case with so many righteous Christians..)
It's not Christian hating darling. It's people who are tired of narrow minded prudes running around whining about being victims, when in fact there is a damn church on every corner in this country, and the White House is full of people like you, and we all know where that's got us.

This is a very shallow and disgraceful description of Nebraska. This person obvious does not know Nebraska or must of been a person who had a rotten attitude when living or going through there.
On the contrary to this distasteful post, Nebraskans are very down-to-earth and good-natured people who work hard and care for one another. As a South Dakotan, I have been to Nebraska hundreds of times and know many Nebraskans. The vast majority of them are very nice people. I have even dated a Nebraskan and still have a great respect for the person.
My advice to Nebraksans is to not let the posts that slam Nebraska bother them. Nebraskans are proud, and rightfully so, of the great state that they live in and the great people who live in the great state.
I would consider moving to Nebraska if I left South Dakota and had two of my top five college choices in Nebraska (others in South Dakota).

Take a look at Holdrege, NE
I currently reside in Holdrege. I have a husband and two children. We are very happy living here and would recommend this town to anyone looking to get out of the big city life. We have a great community. We don't lock our doors during the day or at night. For we know that our neighbors will let us know if anything is going on.

There are hundreds of great towns and small cities in nebraska and very few of them turn away new residents regardless of color or ethnicity. What they do not want in their towns is the crime and problems.
I suspect that I am like almost any Nebraskan in that any person, regardless of who they are or where they are from is welcome to be my neighbor.
The person who spewed the vile earlier is obviously not your typical true Nebraskan. True Nebraskans would never talk like that and spew that much hatred and those many lies.
Is Nebraska perfect? Absolutely not. We are humans and we make mistakes just like everyone else and we have "bad guys" just like everywhere else. The difference is we do not tolerate the "bad guys" and where they are from or who they are does not matter.
Good Luck on your decision.

This post is a good example of the good sense that I find in most of the people I have met so far in Nebraska.
What will Nebraskans do when the politicians tell you you can't hold bad guys accountable? And then the bad guys take over... what then? What will Nebraskans do when massive groups of illegals flood this state and demand their rights (flooding the social programs and draining the funds)? Or have anchor babies? (Babies born in the U.S.A. that make the family legal, that is how they do it in California by the millions.) What will you do???
I ask these questions because I am of the opinion that what is happening in California is a social experiment CREATED by liberals for the purposes of creating socialist government in America... and the crazy thing is... it's working. Many Californian's are looking to the GOVERNMENT to fix the very problems the liberal government purposely created, and of course, they aren't fixing them. Their response is to always ask for more tax payer money. They say if they could just have more money then they can create more social programs which would go a long way in resolving these problems. But, every time they get the money, it just doesn't seem to be enough... and NOTHING gets better because... they need more money . California is becoming the ultimate money pit.
Let's face it, it's all a giant ruse to gain total control and enslave the majority of the people to the will of a few powerful politicians who hate God and love the power, money and influence they obtain through their "jobs", representing the American people.
Next time you vote for your elected leaders, keep California in mind. Do you want to be free or slaves? I choose freedom, which is why I always look into the records of the politicians running so I can make an informed decision when I do vote.
Just something more to think about.

WONDERFUL post Lauree!! I couldn't have worded it better. So very true and so very sad. California is rapidly going in the toilet. NY is going in the same direction also. Makes me more and more sure I'm moving to Nebraska.

I am looking for a more "sane" environment to raise my 9th grade child and live in peace. Looking for a town that values Christianity. One that offers friendliness to new comers. Affordable housing (buyers market) with nice sized property lots, lower property taxes, good schools, an older community is preferable. A place where children can play outside without fearing for their safety. Anyone know of a place like this?

Nebraska is a fine state and I don't think you could go wrong. Omaha is an especially pretty city and anywhere in Nebraska is a great place to raise children.
