Default Casinos

Hi, I'm just writing to see how Nebraskans feel about casinos in their state. Do you think they will be good or bad and why? Feel free to state your opinion, thanks!

I've been against casinos and will continue to be. They're are much better ways to get money in the state. It's been proven over and over again that casinos are more of a drain than they are a boon to an area.

DTO,

I pretty much agree with you. Although, I may be willing to accept some limited gambling in Omaha. I certainly don't want expanded gambling in the state with video poker games in every gas station and bar in the state...South Dakota has had major problems with that. However, I do think there is some serious revenue being lost to Council Bluffs and if we'd limit our casino/gambling to only the river area I might get on board.

Yes, get casinos, please. I can then get a job as a dealer. It would be a lot of fun.

Do you guys play hold'em overe?

Have fun driving to Council Bluffs for your dealer job then.

How far is that? LOL I heard vague directions, like, "across the river."

Personally I don’t like casinos. However there is too much money lost in CB when it could just as easily be given to Nebr. Interesting point would be how much money the casinos give the states? People are stupid enough to gamble and lose money may as well save gas on the trip elsewhere. The bigger problem is that organized crime takes the biggest percentage of the money, then the state gets a little, and the last one in line is the guy hoping to win a buck. That doesn’t happen that much. Casinos are money machines for everyone except the gambler. Casinos in Omaha will not attract tourists but they will keep those who cross the river to CB in town on the Neb side.
