Back when I was a teen in the 80's in New England, some teenagers would hang out in parking lots, often fast food places, at night with their cars, girls, etc. I briefly moved to the Omaha area in the early 90's and noticed, that this was even a much, much bigger thing to do. Now, this pasttime seems to be ancient history in my area (NE). Is that the same for Nebraska too?

occasionally some do, yeah, but the internet's eliminated a lot of the need. if people can chat to their friends online, why hang out in a wendy's parking lot?

In North Platte kids hang out a laundromats. They just go in there and use the vending machines and watch tv, I never once saw any of those kids even touch a washer or dryer so I'm pretty sure they weren't doing laundry.

West Omaha kids still hang out in parking lots. "Taco Hut" is one of the main ones on West Maple and 150th. East Omaha kids hang out at Memorial or Elmwood parks.

I've seen teenagers do this in the Home Depot parking lot on 144th and Maple. My brother used to tell me stories of how they would hang out on Dodge Street in the early 90's. He made it sound like a huge party. But the city has cut down on that quite a bit.

The chillens still hang out in my apartment parking lot. They like to smoke weed there and look low profile when in reality they look high profile.

Heck yes! Growing up in Geneva, Nebraska, we hung out in the parking lots (we called them: the bull pens because farmers would park their cattle trucks there).......

In Exeter, we have kids parked at the local park and in the parking areas of our little downtown village.

Kids gathering is still happening! The internet can NEVER replace a dark summer's evening with the crescent moon rising in the east, a warm breeze, and the voices of young people gathered in their favorite "spots"!

They used too back in the 70, 80, 90.
Once all the shootings started they figured out that it is best to stay home play video games and Facebook all day.
Shooting still happen along Ames Ave during the summer.
