Hello All,
My fiance just accepted a position in Sioux City IA. From what I hear, we don't want to live there. We are from Pittsburgh and know NOTHING about the area. Are there any nice places to live in Nebraska that he can commute into Sioux City (I know he wouldn't mind about a 45 minute- 1 hour drive) as long as we lived in a nice area. A nice area for us would be newer homes, some restaurants, outdoor activities, etc.... Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you for your time! |

First of all I would go to Sioux City and get your own opinions. A lot of people bash the town, but their are some very nice parts of Sioux City. The best Nebraska town I could recommend is Wayne, it would have some restaurants and a few things. Norfolk would provide shopping, more restaurants and everything else, but is over an hour away. I would also look at Vermillion SD, and Lamars, Sioux Center and Orange City in IA. I believe there all within an hour and seem like decent places when I have driven through them. Sure you can go to the respective forums and find out more from locals, but I would take a visit to Sioux City and gather your own opinions.
