Thumbs up HUSKER NATION: Get Behind Eagles & Mavs!

Husker Nation - not calling for you to give any less support to OUR Huskers, but in these down times do you want to use all of the strong support and cheering for OTHER things NEBRASKA FOOTBALL?

Do you realize that both Chadron State College and UNO are having perfect seasons. There is even a small chance that the D2 National Championship could end up being the:
+ Eagles vs Mavericks;
+ CSC vs UNO,
+ Chadron vs Omaha....

How cool would that be for the state of NEBRASKA and the OTHER NEBRASKA FOOTBALL that occurs. When you are down with the Husker's performance, take a look at D2 in the state and get some of that excitement back.

GO CHADRON STATE
GO MAVS

(and oh yeah GO HUSKERS)

Both the Chadron State Eagles and UNO Mavericks were seeded #1 in their division. If they both continue to win in the playoffs they can meet in the semi-finals of the national championships. Unfortunatly the way the bracket is built the nation won't see 2 Nebraska teams playing for the National Championship; however, the state has 2 great chances to have a National Championship team - Husker Nation: Get behind these 2 great Division II programs (even while cheering on Joe Ganz and the other Husker seniors).

Go Huskers
Go Eagles (Danny Woodhead, good to see you back this week)
Go Mavs

OK, just a reminder - Husker Nation don't despair... there are TWO NEBRASKA FOOTBALL teams playing in the playoffs for the D2 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!
Both Chadron State Eagles and UNO Mavericks are playing tomorrow afternoon.

Get behind them both and cheer them on.

I hope the whole state gets behind Chadron... the unfortunate thing is I expect the Omaha World Hearld (and Channels 3/6/7) to focus on UNL and UNO losses and only have a small article buried somewhere in the sports section tomorrow. They don't realize the folks in their listening/reading areas that have gone there or have relatives going there. They are one of the STATE'S colleges so it would be cool to see them give them some press.

From the CSC Sports Information Desk: "Quarterback Joe McLain turned a mid-air somersault into the end zone to cap a 12-yard run up the middle to give the Chadron State Eagles a wild 76-73 victory over Abilene Christian in the third overtime on Saturday in an NCAA Division II playoff game at Elliott Field."

Thank you Eagles for giving the State of Nebraska a great season the cheer for. Good luck next week!

OK, I forgive the OWH a little bit. They did have an article on the inside of the sports page with a small one-line on the front page.
