Wow - you have to be the first person to ever say anything nice about Sioux City, that I've heard anyway. It doesn't look very appealing with all of the industrial buildings and such.

I drove through O'Neill on a road trip. It was around midnight when I drove through. I don't remember seeing anything but a large shamrock in the middle of the streets. I've often wondered about that place.

The large shamrock is because O'neill is the Irish capitol of Nebraska. They have a great irish festival every year.

I like Lincoln, which is where I live, and Omaha. There is a lot to do in Omaha if you like to shop. I really like to shop at the Whole Foods Mart. They have a huge selection of vegetarian/vegan foods, and some very exotic foods that are hard to find in Nebraska, like escargots. Omaha also has the Henry Doorly Zoo, which has all kinds of different animals. I like Omaha's malls better than Lincoln's malls. Lincoln is a nice city, but sometimes I wish it was a little more like Omaha. After living in Lincoln for my whole life, I'm starting to get kind of bored with it. If you have never been to Lincoln, it is a nice place to visit.

Burwell is the BEST!
I jumped to the "Best Town" topic after reading 36 pages of posts on "The Worst Town" - mostly off-topic diatribes & harassing people who posted their opinion on-topic. People just kept feeding the trolls.
I found only 3 pages of posts here - all on-topic. Maybe it proves news publishers & TV producers are correct that people will pay attention to anything negative, but ignore what is positive.
Anyway... my super-positive statements about Nebraska & Burwell in the "Worst" thread never got so much as a "howdy do" out of anyone. So I'm going to repost it here!

Burwell is the BEST!
Listen up if you want to visit a great Nebraska town & have a wonderful time.
You can stay in a motel or B&B, or camp at the Calamus Dam northwest of town. If you like quiet, you'll love being close to Nebraska's Sandhills... unless Nebraska's Big Rodeo is going on in August. If you go then, best get reservations in a year in advance!
You'll roast in summers & freeze in winters - sometimes, but most of the time weather is lovely. You won't find more friendly people anywhere - well, maybe Thailand - based on my travels. Find the coffee shop on Main St. a block from the square if you're up to visiting with most everyone that walks in the door... while your taste buds get a treat.
Now if you haven't figured out what town it is yet, try to find Windmill Music Festivals that take place somewhere in the vicinity of Comstock, a tiny town between Ord & Sargent. You'll be close... but stay on Hwy 11 & go about 17 miles past Ord & you'll be in one of the friendliest places in Nebraska... BURWELL!!

Best Post in "Worst Town in Nebraska" thread!
After posting that comment about feeding the troll in the "Worst Town in Nebraska" thread, wouldn't you know I read a few more & found this... THE VERY BEST POST EVER in the "Worst Town" thread!! Honors go to ColeSD, who left a tiny town in NE Nebraska because local folks & their kids couldn't figure out his wife & little boy were truly American citizens of Hispanic descent. Cheers to ColeSD!

If you complain, they give you highlights and force you to say "Fabulous!" in Spanish and Arabic.
And they're ALL OVER Grand Island... which they found using a map developed by liberal college professors that actually contains Grand Island.
I apologize to matt, nurse, lois, chris, etc. for my immaturity moment.
