Default What is the BEST town in Nebraska?

There is an interesting thread about the worst town in the state, but for a newcomer, I'd sure like to hear your views of the positive side of living in your town. I can't say my new hometown is the best yet, I don't even live there yet, but we chose to buy near Cambridge.

Many great towns in Nebraska. CNN/Money Magazine recently recognized Papillion and I do like it there.

Kearney is my favorite town, probably biased b/c I grew up there, but since I moved away, realized more what a great town it is and would love to move back. Could name many more like Dave1215 said.

Default Ewing

My childhood memories are about Ewing along US 275 between O'Neil and Neligh. I loved the sand streets, one night a week movie theater, Kermit's Market, the smelly bar where we could play pinball and get an ice cold Coke on a hot afternoon. We fished the Elkhorn and farm ponds, hunted phesants 'till our legs felt like lead, and I recall a night of chasing Jack rabbits with my buddy's dad's car. Lucky no rabbits or people were injured.

When you grew up in Kearney, did you ever go to a store called Mail N' More? My mother was the owner. She ran two businesses at age 23 and moonlighted at Eaton's.

I sleep all day! The ethic must skip a generation!

Not that I can recall, but that does not mean I didn't go! Darn memory.

Love that part of the state. Fond memories of Newport and Rose.
