Nebraska Dominates the List of Best Places to Raise a family
Just thought you folks in Nebraska might like to know this. According to the following article, out of the 52 best places to raise a family, Nebraska dominates the list with 11 cities. It doesn't surprise me one single bit. I've always had a fond regard for your great state. Even though I'm from Oklahoma, I think very highly of Nebraska through all of the people from your state that I have met over the years.

Yeah I just read it and was going to post, but you beat me to the punch! Great PR for our state, many other communities like the ones listed that would be very comparable. Thank you for your compliment, I would say the same for Oklahoma, whenever I have traveled through I have been treated very well.

I saw the article and am a bit puzzled. I actually went to highschool in one the towns (Bartlett, NE) and lived about 30 minutes from another (Petersburg). My home town was about 15 minutes away and nearly identical to Bartlett. Similar population, jobs, incomes, property value. The only difference was that my hometown had more "recreational activities" (i.e., a few lakes, camping areas, and 2 nearby golf courses) and Bartlett had the county high school. The rankings seem highly arbitrary and there are any number of small towns in my hometown (and Bartlett) area that to the outside viewer would be nearly identical to Bartlett (e.g. Petersburg). This is good press for Nebraska as whole, but I really question the relevance of these rankings when there is so little difference between all these little towns. I'm not trying to be a "donnie downer" here...just seems a little arbitrary.

Yeah I see what you are saying, three states basically had half the list. You would think some of the small towns in our neighboring states would be similar to our small towns. Yet we'll take the good pub for our state, and if gets Nebraska on some peoples minds, maybe changes some perceptions, that isn't a horrible thing.
