Where can I look to find.
I left University of South Dakota back in 1998 and thought that I would never be able to get back to the Area. But after living the fast pace and hating everyday. I am making a conserted effort to move back. I too as I have seen with other post, am looking at moving to the North Platte area. The problem I have is I know no one in that area. Although my move is being planed for after school ends here, I need a jump on getting information. Being a farm boy myself the country side is not a problem. I probably prefer out side of the city limits. I just need some help on where to go to find the information. All of the prepackaged web pages do not help. The Lincoln County, and North Platte web pages have alot of information but seems to be a dead end.
thanks for any help ahead of time.

Well, looking for a house it seem move.com shows 123 listings for North Platte. I have not found anything for the area around, just North Platte. The North Platte web pageshows only one Tv station while there is three. the more information on an area the better. Most information maps etc. I know that I can get maps from chamber of commerce. It is over all information.

Buying or renting?
If renting, looking in the Telegraph for rent ads would be the way to go.
Buying and you can find realtor listings by hitting the online yellow pages (I like yp.yahoo.com myself) and searching for real estate agents in North Platte.
I usually plug any agency that comes up into Google as they often don't have their websites listed in the YPs. Then search at their individual websites for houses for sale.
Hope that helps.

Along with the other good suggestions, one thing that is helpful if you're looking for homes on acreages (outside of town), go to REALTOR.com - Real Estate Listings & Homes For Sale and plug in North Platte, NE - then click on "Advanced Search". That will allow you to choose the lot size. I just put in "1 or more" acres and got 200 matches in the North Platte area, including some homes on 10+ acres.

Take the time to do a map search of the area then you might have to look for a local realtor for that town. Not all realtor in Nebraska have web sites. Some are auctioneers who also sell property as well. You might also want to call the town clerk or local banker to see what they might have available in their town. A good place to find telephone numbers is Dex On Line. Also Fred has a good idea as the North Platte newspaper is on line and you can check out what is listed by going to their web page. Good luck.
