What is happening in Hooper Nebraska
Last month we driving North out of Fremont and 275 is a new four lanes and passes Hooper NE on the West side. We saw a new water tower and some construction equipment working in the area.
We talked to a local farmer and he mentioned something about new house development being added along the new highway.
Is there any information anout what is happening in Hooper Nebraska?

I'm originally from the Scribner-Snyder area and they are taking the Highway 275 4 lane all the way from Omaha to Norfolk. You probably saw that 275 is now on top of the bluff rather than down through the valley. Now, you can actually drive from Hooper, around Fremont and all the way to 90th & Dodge in Omaha with hitting only 1, maybe two stoplights. It's awesome.
I can't tell you how far the four lane has progressed, as I've only gone to Oakland to visit relatives occasionally, but it sure looks a lot different than it did 30 years ago when I'd go from Snyder down to Fremont to frequent the movies.

Housing development
Yes there will be a fine housing development going up on the south edge of Hooper. It has plans for 40+ residences. See the city hall on Hooper's mainstreet for more information.

Just heard the grant for the lake rebuilding in the city park just was approved. I think $350,000.00 or so to do major renovations. Lots going on in town.

Brickyard Hill Lots
HOOPER!
A local Real Estate & auctioneer company have a project going on right there off the new road in Hooper. It's called Brickyard Hill. I don't know all of the specifics, but they are selling lots. I'm a Realtor, so I called about this a few months ago. Feel free to email me for more info on this. It looks like a NICE project. I just bought a house in Scribner (right next to Hooper) and couldn't be more thrilled. Nice small town, quiet, friendly & "safe"..... The Realtors in Omaha won't tell you about these great little communities...... #1 because they don't know about them (most of them have never been out of Omaha) and #2 because they don't make enough money to drive out that far to sell a house that is generally 30% to 75% less than the metro area. I had to become a Realtor in order to look at the properties that I wanted to see out here. My son just bought the "Town Hall" building in Dodge! What a project that is going to be. I will be posting pics of this building soon, if anyone wants to track the progress. Or you may email me for pics, or help/info on any of the small towns around here. I LOVE spending time in the "small" towns, and I'm still working out of the metro area (Bellevue C-21) Best of both worlds!

I have been through this area and there are a lot of nice houses here that are just as well-built if not sturdier than the suburban homes in Omaha. Many of the older houses have character to them. With a little updating, some of the neglected homes would make nice little homes. The scenery is nice there too. If I lived in the area, I would not build or buy a spot in a low-lying area.
