Guess Omaha is doin o k for a while. I heard the heavy rain last night, didn't want to go back to sleep. It just sounded so nice. After it stoped the birds were singing loudly and I imagine joyfully for the meals they got out of it.
Lovin the Spring weather to the maxx.

Oh Heck, the snow is pretty! It won't last long and it isn't an ice storm.

OK... it was May 2nd (last Friday) and I was stuck in a white out blizzard - I hate this global warming.... Left Chadron at 8:00am and by 9:30am I made it all the way to Hay Springs (18 miles)... that was a crazy storm - pure whiteout, could periodically see 1 yellow line in front of me - wasn't sure I'd even see Hay Springs as I passed thru - luckily saw the turn to main street, the grocery store was open and found a house to rent for the day/nite... Can we now have spring?

Hopefully its done Dave. That was quite the storm, they had in western Nebraska. There are also some good photos of the storm in the South Dakota forum under their picture thread. Good thing it will melt fast, probably most of it has already. Just got a few flakes in the tri-cities area.

Left Chadron with 5-6 inches... 5 miles out of Haysprings moved to literal white out conditions... spent the day/nite in Haysprings and woke up yesterday morning to warm weather... got to Cherry County and no snow on the ground...

Default ...

Usually snow melts within a week during anytime of the year, but this year has been very odd in that we have had below average temperatures pretty much all winter, no record breaking lows, and probably dipped below 0 degrees like twice all year, but this has been a long and drawn out winter..

This is the first year in a while that we had snow stay on the ground for an entire month..

The latest any part of the state has ever received measurable snow is May 2nd to May 3rd, and I am not at all surprised that this is a year that we almost break that..

Don't get me wrong, I love the winter and I enjoy snow and the winter air sometimes feels very nice, some people are miserable in it, and I too when I am exposed to it for too long.

Anyway, we have a long time till we see snow again, so now we have the pictures to look at till next time, thank you for taking those!
