Angry OK, who is SICK of the snow and COLD???

I am a nebraska naitive, Have been here all my 25 years, haha. I have never been so ready for the winter to be over and the First sign of spring to show its face!! Who is with me? I Havent seen the back yard of my house since December! I have seen some melting but for sure then old man winter blows his frigid breath and there goes my poor hopes of seeing some grass. I hate winter!! Plus we live on a minimum maintance road in Merrick County and Havent seen the gravel on it since December either. The grader only comes by two times a month and goes like mach 7. When he hits our house the blade isn't even touching the ground so it really helps alot! Ha ha So tell me if I m alone in this fight for spring or what!

Sounds like Spring fever. I'm ready too, I like it warm more than cold, but we do live in Nebraska (I don't live here for the weather, thats for sure, some like it some don't)! This winter has been pretty abnormal as far as the snow staying on the ground and now this last storm dumped the largest snow yet. I'll promise you, spring will come, farmers will get antsy to plant, and then severe weather season will start.

I too am a Nebraska native 20 yrs and recently moved to the south and I actually miss the snow! Believe it or not. I dread the summer heat where I live now. Even the winters here are not too cold so Christmas time just does'nt feel like Christmas time.

I'm also a Nebraska native. I spent my first 27 year on the northern border.
The last four years I've been down here in the banana belt, by Kansas.

The last couple of winters have utterly destroyed the banana crop. :P I keep telling people I moved South for the balmy winters and I'm feeling a bit gyped lately....

However, it still beats the winters we spent on the SD/ND line! We went a month one year where it didn't get above zero and something like 70 days where it never got above freezing.

Thanks so much, tpabes. With that last comment you caused a miracle to happen - I passed an entire root beer thru my nose!

ROFL only because as a gardener, it's happened to me, too!

Now - Can someone come help me get the root beer out of my keyboard, please?

My apologies to your keyboard. I always wanted to be a miracle worker, never imagined it would involve root beer though

I like the colder air and I live in NE Kansas. I always remind myself that temps of 90+ with humidity is much worse.

Next week it is suppose to warm up above freezing for the whole week. That should melt some of this snow into smirt (snow and dirt for anyone who is wondering) and mud. Then it will be brown for awhile with some decent temperatures, just enough to get our hopes up that spring is almost here. Then will come our early March blizzard to knock us back into place, then things can start to green back up for spring.
