Default Thank you

My new friend, SCGranny, has pointed me to this site. I first want to thank Sandhills guru, for displaying such wonderful sandhills hospitality and help to SCGranny. I also want to say thank you for all who bring this area to visitors attention. I am the owner of the home that SCGranny is working to purchase. I hope that the positive steps that have gotten her this far will continue.
Thanks everyone!!
To nebrgirlgeorge. I LIVED by the falls south of Cody!! 1988-94. South side of the river. We put a home in just across the meadow south of the river. Yes, the falls have changed considerably with heavy rains etc. The ole timers that use to live on down river, told me that the falls at one time were more than 20 feet high. Now they cut into the rock. My kids all swam in the pool below the falls and under the bridge. I know the family that lives there now. It is difficult to walk the north side in like we use to. I will dig up the pictures and post them soon. I am sure we know who each other is just not certain. Heck you could be one of my kids!!!!

Thank you all so much! I won't be able to make the April branding - between banks (grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr) and other obligations, the best we can do is late May... but hold that thought cause we will be out there!!!
Got some pics of Snake falls, and some wild turkeys, and the dam, and the river... most of the pics are of the house (141!!!) and land so I'll have to sift thru. Grin. More to come....we even met some horses that fought for our attention and petting, and my daughter (25 YO) was enthralled by the all of the new calves headbutting their moms for milk. So much fun... More soon, I promise!

Hello everyone. This is my first post on the forums here and I want to say I am happy to be a member! I really love the pictures all of you posted. They are very beautiful! I grew up in the Omaha area (presently Lavista) and am very proud to live in such a great city. Omaha is a wonderful place to raise a family and I have made many great friends here. I have a few pictures I took of the city I will have to post here when I have the time.

Thomas: I know this is off-topic, but I'm curious.... I've seen solicitations for people to go to MyOmahaSpace l Omaha Nebraska’s #1 Network l 2008 on a few other sites recently... I see you are the admin... can you enlighten me: What's the purpose of that site, who's generally the target audience, how long has it been around - just a little background/education to fix my curiosity...

Hello David,

It is a pleasure to answer your questions. The purpose of MyOmahaSpace is to promote Omaha, Nebraska and surrounding areas in a positive and productive way. MyOmahaSpace is a social network were "the locals" can get together, make new friends, exchange information, and find out what's going on in and around the city.

Here is a list of features our members have access to: user profiles, classified ads, event calendar & listings, user managed groups, a live chat room, photo gallery, video & music, forums, and more.

Our target audience is anyone with ties to Omaha, Nebraska. MyOmahaSpace is a personal project of mine that has been in development for just over a year now. On April 23rd the site was brought online. To date our site is advertised via word of mouth only. Our members and anyone interested in promoting Omaha, Nebraska is encouraged to share our website with friends and family.

I hope this satisfies your curiosity David. Please feel free to contact me with questions, comments, and or suggestions.

To get back on topic, below is a photograph taken of Omaha, Nebraska a few years back. I took this with a Sony 5.1MP digital camera.

Great picture - thanks for sharing it....

One last curious thing - is there a specific group behind MyOmahaSpace behind it or just a couple guys got together and did it?

I guess is there a specific target audience and what would drive a person to use it over Professional Social Networking that LinkedIn (broken link) and LinkedIn-Omaha is doing or Young Arts/Entertainment is doing with SLAM-Omaha and its online component, or what economic development is doing with eOmahaForums, etc, etc....

Just trying to understand what would drive a person to this site over all the other networking sites we get drawn to - what's the niche or the unique value?

Would love to see someone have a product that bridges all of these... uses the strengths of each, lets each do what it is good at, but brings them together in somekind of cohesive enviornment (an intelligent portal?)...
