I am going to be moving to sideny here within the next month to take a job with UP Railroad. My question is, where would I go or does anyone know of any homes for rent in the sidney area?? I have been looking on the internet and all I could find was the 2 apartment buildings but I have to much stuff to fit into a apartment and a dog as well. If someone would be so kind as to be able to help me I would be greatfull. Again I am just looking for a house or really even a duplex in the sidney area. Thanks in advance!!

For the most part, the only way you're going to find housing in a small town is to look in the local paper. If you're lucky, the paper has its classifieds online. Otherwise, you'll have to just wait until you pick up the latest issue.

I don't know how much they do with rentals, but contacting the realty companies in town might not be a bad idea. The one I know off the top of my head is Sidney Nebraska Real Estate, Holly Realty, Member MLS50 but just google search for others. My guess is you'll be able to find a nice enough duplex or something if you put in the time to look.

The other nice thing, of course, is that in a small town some of these agents might just "know" someone who is renting an house and be able to put you in contact with them. Might not be a bad idea to contact UP and see if they know of anyone, too. Hope it works out.
