Well, someone needed to, in my estimation. Have been back here @ City-Data forums for a week now and no new posts for Nebraska... for no less than 3 weeks since the last fresh one was posted. In this time since my return, for Kansas there are 3 new posts, 4 for South Dakota, 6 for Iowa, 8 for Wyoming, 6 for Missouri, and 18 for Colorado for crying out loud. They've got us surrounded. Circle Up!
Has something happened here in the background that anyone would care to make me aware of? Did people finally get that the big "
N ' on the University of Nebraska stands for 'Nowledge"? Are folks off boycotting one of our fine businesses like Runza or Cabellas? (if so then the news has escaped me so far) Weed legalized now? (that ain't gonna happen until teotwawki) Please, enlighten me!
Have had difficulties resurrecting my old account, the powers that be at CD being slower than steam off of cold biscuits in getting back with me over my pleas for assistance in getting "
SandHills " back up and running. No word whatsoever back from them yet after my extensive love letter explaining my dilemma. May have to just let my 300+ posts with their 600+ reps go bye-bye. Ah well, It's All Good.

Very few postings as there is little interest in moving there. Pretty simple. Cold. Smart people dont want to live there and the well educated are leaving in droves. Not attractive to conservatives due to high taxes. Not attractive to liberals for obvious reasons.

A lot of different state forums are kinda slow in the summer, particularly the central states. I took a peek at the total page count regarding threads for Nebraska and neighboring states and here is what I come up with.

I make two trips a year to the Omaha/Council Bluffs area to visit a couple long time high school friends. They left the Denver area in the 1990-93 time frame because of double digit unemployment. They see what's going on over there nowadays and they have no desire to go back.

Another one of the things that concerns me is a cool exhibit of Americana--Pioneer Village near Minden in south central Nebraska, maybe a 3 hour drive southwest of Omaha. It is a huge museum built in the 1950's that has thousands of American artifacts.
