HI,
We are moving to Lincoln soon. I need help. We are a family of 4 I have two kids, 12 and 14. That's 7th and 9th grade. my 7th grader is big into Hockey and we need to get him on a good team. My 9th grader is big into coding and gaming. They have been fortunate to be in one of the best schools in SW Penn. My 9th grader has taken coding in Python both at his school and at Carnegie Melon University. He's used Torchlight and other programs. Both kids have used computers as their only method for delivering and receiving school assignments. No they are not online school kids, but their school district was into digital promise and the initiative. they all use google classroom and one note to deliver and get assignments. I'm looking for a comparable school to deliver the same high quality education. Which districts would be comparable to this kind of education? My youngest is gifted in math while my oldest is best at coding. I was hoping at least that the University might be in some kind of partnership with a school regarding tech since I have heard this is the silicon prarie.
We are looking to rent and I would like to pay under 1700 a month.
What are the best schools for this and where would l look into ice hockey teams for my son?
Thanks
Pittsburgh

Lincoln Public Schools does partner with local organizations and UNL to provide Computer Science education and opportunities - here is a link to the CS program and I'm sure you could get more information there. LPS Computer Science | Computer Science

As far as hockey, check out the Lincoln Ice Hockey Association Lincoln Ice Hockey Association

Hope you enjoy living in Lincoln!

Soon 100MPS Fiber Optic will be available for MOST Lincoln residents. My neighborhood is supposed to be hooked up by early 2018. Quoted service for less than $60/month. I can't remember the name of the company but I am sure your sons will know in just a few minutes from their arrival. BTW $1700/month will get you a really nice three/four bedroom just about anywhere in Lincoln. Utilities are fairly low also.
