4 hotels in Auburn, Ne (just west of Brownville):
Arbor Manor Hotel
Auburn Inn
Grand Central Hotel
Palmer House Motel

4 in Rockport, Mo (just across the river from Brownville):
Elk Motel and Rv Park
Rock Port Inn
Super 8
White Rock Motel

You might also call realtors in those towns, even if they don't have a rental for a short term, they are in a small enough town they might know somebody. You might also call the city clerk in those towns. You can find those numbers using the yahoo yellow pages, if you can't PM me and I'll give them too you. CD doesn't really want phone numbers posted.

If you have no luck there, head north to Nebraska City, it will be about a 30-40 minute drive. Several motels in Nebraska City and here is a link to their paper:

We just visited the area last week. Hubby is going to work at the plant long term. We just stayed in Nebraska City. Our Realtor said most temporary lodging, including hotels, may be filled up due to the outage. You may have to stay a little ways away.

Maybe try Tecumseh, Syracuse or Falls City in Nebraska or or Maryville or Mound City in Mo, I know Maryville is home to Northwest Missouri State so maybe some rentals there? Maryville is about 50 miles from Brownville. If those don't work, look at Beatrice, Ne, it is about 60 miles west and a little bigger city so might have more options, or Shenendoah or Clarinda in Iowa. At the very worst you can do Lincoln, Omaha area or St. Joseph, not the best commute, but I guess it is only for a little over a month.

Also this is kinda of a long shot, but there is a small state college in the small town of Peru, just northwest of Brownville. Perhaps there might be a rental in town there, or someone at the college could help you out, here is a link:
Nebraska’s Peru State College
