I've recently found out that my great-grandfather, Louis Steil, from Germany, lived in Scribner from 1877 till his death. He was the Ridgely postmaster for awhile, and ran a store in Scribner from 1906 through 1918. Any other decendents out there?

Give the Scribner library a call, I did a yahoo search to see if they had one, and it turns out there is a Ruth Steil on the board. You might be able to find out more about the store too.

Look up Alex Meyer. He's done a bunch of research and I think even written a book about the Pebble Creek area, including Snyder, Dodge, Scribner, etc.

I'm looking for info on the Town Hall building in Dodge. Anyone have a pics or info? My son owns it, and we would like to find out more about it before we re-model it. Thanks for any info......
