I was wondering how the Super 8 in Grand Island is? I have been there 14 years ago and have a vague memory of it and wonder if it is decent place to stay and in an OK area.
Should I have too many troubles going through Grand Island at 8 or 9 in the evening and be taking US 30 into town and taking a left on Walnut St. which leads to Locust St? Are there any areas to avoid? In the past, I have normally gone through Grand Island during the day and did not have a problem. I was asking, since I will be going through the area in about two weeks. I enjoy going through Nebraska on my way to Colorado. Insight is welcomed. |

I have never stayed at Super 8 in Grand Island, but have stayed at many Super 8's and have never had a problem. The one in G.I. looks decent from the outside so you should be fine. You will have no problem drving through at night, just like driving through the day, except darker.
Nothing to worry about.Last edited by tpabes; 05-07-2008 at 08:01 AM. |

Thanks for the insight, tpabes. There is a Shell station on Locust St. and I plan to filler up when I am there.

When was the last time you came to Grand Island? They have been doing some great landscaping & new street lights on South Locust. Enjoy your visit....

I went through Grand Island last May and took US 30 to US 281 to get onto I-80. I like going through Locust St. and taking that down to I-80. A little easier getting through and less traffic than the US 281 exit.
