Fun things for kids in Lincoln
Greetings all:
I will be spending Memorial Day weekend in Lincoln with my 2-year old. Can anyone suggest some fun things for young children in Lincoln? Even something as simple as a nice city park would help...Thanks!

There is a new place in Southwest Lincoln that is a play center. If I can find the info I will post it.

We just took our granddaughter to the Sunken Gardens, 27th st & Normal Blvd. Its not a playground, but a nice flower garden with waterfall and fish ponds for viewing, she seemed to enjoy it very much.
The Children's Zoo is good for sure, smaller zoo but still worth the visit.
There are many parks through out Lincoln that I am sure your child would enjoy also.

There is a nice indoor playground by the Sunken Gardens also, in case of rain.

I really think the Lincoln Zoo is nice- it is just the right size for smaller children.
The Children's museum is one of the best we have been to.
The sunken gardens are really pretty.
Morrill Hall is one of the boys' faves and reasonably priced.
I remember visiting a Pioneer Park (?) as a kid. I think there were some neat trails... Can't remember.

and if your willing for a bit of a drive, you could go up to Omaha to our world class zoo.

The Omaha zoo is really a wonderful zoo, but you need at least a whole day to get it all in. It is a bit overwhelming for the young set, that's why I like the Lincoln Zoo. It's just the right size for the wee ones.

Nebraska Wildlife Safari
We were in Lincoln for a family get together over Memorial weekend. We had previously taken our 5 yr and 2 yr old grandsons to the Lincoln Zoo and so this time we went to Nebraska Wildlife Safari at exit 426 between Lincoln and Omaha. It was fabulous and the kids and adults really enjoyed it! They were quite busy too.
