Enjoy your day off! I'm guessing maybe 3 inches here this morning, Although there is a little ice under it.

The weather didn't stop people from getting to Qwest. They had just under 17,500 last night. The Huskers gave an amazing effort!

SCGranny, saw on the South Dakota board, they are predicting yet another blizzard for this weekend. Is your area in the target zone too?

We got a good 4 to 6 inches of snow here. It stopped snowing around 130 to 2am.

my dog hates it and almost refuses to go potty in snow that "deep" (it's deep for a dog)

Some of the roads here are not plowed very well.. and get this, IN TOWN, like ni downtown.. they pile the snow in the middle of the streets!

tpabes, they SAY it is supposed to blizzard here tonight and tomorrow (is "blizzard" a verb?) but even tho the wind is picking up a little, I don't see anything near us on the radar yet. The sun is out and it is a beautiful day. Of course it could change... but they said up until yesterday morning that we were in the blizzard/ice path for yesterday and we didn't get a thing.

Sigh. I'm more worried abt the home basketball games being postponed tomorrow because the opposition may not want to drive thru it. We already had one cancel out this past Tuesday; their buses wouldn't run.

Looks like Lincoln and Omaha are getting my snow this year!

Oh, well, it's better for the cattle. I keep telling myself that. Pity the cattle. Pity the ranchers out there with them. Less wind and wind chill and more snow would be nice, though. Today it is a warm and toasty 26 above.

Radio, if its like most downtowns they are piling in up in the middle so they can bring trucks in and haul it out.

SCGranny, don't worry your snow will come.

You know SCGranny, this little move of ours to supposely make it easier on us has seen me doing nothing but scoop snow almost daily and its snowing again. Who would of thought 100 miles would of made this much difference.

Sorry, Sandhills Guru! Guess I shoulda told you why we REALLY moved here... my heartfelt weather predictions that this area was, in the next 10 years, going to be more wet and more productive than ever before! And that included snow...

Looks like I was off by 100 miles too!!! LOL You musta got my snow again... all we got was a dusting on the porch. Sigh. but my tears are freezing with the wind chill!!! LOL

Yesterday (Saturday) and today were so beautiful, highs n the 40's, and they are talking about a Canadian cold front coming in tonight and tomorrow, with more snow.

Today I was outside working in a hooded sweater, tomorrow I guess the coat comes out again! What a gorgeous weekend!

But I sure am looking forward to more snow! Grin

Default still waiting..

I'm still waiting for our first really good snow of the year..

But, as with most years, the good snow's in the far eastern part of the state tend to come in February and March, when the weather systems start taking a spring like weather system approach.

That said, I remember only one year in my 30 years that we didn't get any decent snows.. And honestly maybe 5 years where we received a good storm before the coldest days of winter..

signed,

Mr. jealousy
