Kearney's great...who ever is on the city council sure knows how to plan a city out. I lived there for 4 years and now live in Minneapolis. Kearney has some nice amenities and the city is laid out quite nice. One of the best places in Nebraska if you want my opinion. If I were to move back to Nebraska it would be Kearney. Yes it has grown quite dramatically in the last ten years...but they have planned for that growth. It is now over 27,000 people and like one other person said...that does not count the university students. I think about 8,000 students who study there on the campus. Mainly white collar jobs. The other jobs can be hard to come by because of the university students who need jobs. But if you have a degree or have experience in a field than you should have no problem finding a job. There are some good daycares. I worked at one at New Life Church called Sonshine World. I think they are still in opperation. Some of the churches offer great daycares you just have to look.
