Furthermore, Nebraskans have expressed their desire to outlaw murder, kidnapping and burglary. Thank God for you proud Americans up there in the Heartland.

The sad thing is... many of Nebraska's smaller towns can thank illegal immigration for slowing their rural population drain.

I agree with Star_Gazer and it just makes it harder to decide on another "lesser of two evils" situation. I can say that in my town, so much going on is attributed to many illegals here, and I for one am tired of them causing the attrition of our city. If someone has to leave and decrease the population temporarily, it shouldn't be the good citizens who have lived here all their lives and helped build the area.

Anyone who knows me can tell you I am not the least bit prejudiced but enough is enough. I'm involved in a situation right now where an illegal family has been stealing from me, other neighbors, the City, and the cable/phone company. They keep us awake late at night and are trashing the neighborhood, but you can bet their brand spankin' new vehicles are spotless and get washed weekly. In trying to resolve this situation for the betterment of all, I was more or less threatened with a lawsuit by "an upstanding citizen" if I didn't drop it.

Something's not right with this picture but I will not let them drive me off so their buddies can take my place!

You mean like the small city in Iowa that had a major raid of the kosher slauterhouse? How a lot of people making $5 an hour (in that case) benefit a small community with an already depressed economy is beyond me.

because its depresses the minimum wage while taking jobs off the market. lets go through some basic economics.

Im a large business and i want to make lots of money. I need 20 workers so i hire illegals who work for 5 dollars because i can. INstead of hiring jon and jason who have a family and need to feed them so they nee to make 7 or 8 dollars an hour. Now when i make my product im makeing a lot of money so why am i going to stay in this crap town. so i take my money somehwere else and the illegals send a chunk of change home to mexico and jon is on welfare because the major employer in towm is paying an ulivable wage.

Thus a depression of the economy in that city.

The part with the illegals needing welfare due to a greedy corporation is sickening and we as Amercian citizens need to stand up to the greedy ones and the welfare issue and reform our immigration practices and tackle the poverty/economic depression issue head one.

The welfare for the people will make them lazier and more dependent on government handouts. We should retool our welfare/social services programs to push these very same people to be independent and productive members of society (who volunteer and better their communities). Instead of cash handouts for mothers who have their kids out of wedlock, offer daycare assistance and assistance with education and job skills.

The ones to blame: corporations who use and abuse their workers, welfare system, and our nation's immigration policy (which encourages illegal immigration and is unfair to those who wait for years to come into the US). Kind of a messed up mess in a messed up world, but we as Amercian citizens can stand up collectively and vote for politicans who sincerly care and will push for change and push for reform in society and in our communities.

aerahrtlu will become famous soon enoughaerahrtlu will become famous soon enough
What's sad is that the corporations are doing this and then taking the business elsewhere, causing many illegals to go on welfare which in turn takes away welfare from people who also are in dire need of it.
To get medicaid here in Nebraska you need to make under $500 a month. A MONTH! I don't know about you, but that's just crap.
