Default Nebraska vs Kansas

Over the next year, I'm considering purchasing 40-60 acres of raw land in southeast Nebraska. I love quail hunting with my dogs and have always enjoyed that portion of the state. Will build a small place for the horses, dogs, and the family and was wondering if there is any benefits (taxes, etc) to being across the line in Kansas. From limited research, it appears NE is the better state from local, state, and sales tax.

Any suggestions from other quail hunters as to best counties would be appreciated (I know you want divulge your honey holes). As well as, raw CRP land prices/acre?

Thanks

Pete

Where in southeast Nebraska are you looking? I believe Kansas is a little lower on property tax, which would be important on 40-60 acres especially once you build on it. If you are looking close enough to Missouri, that would be the state with the lowest tax burden. Of course taxes aren't everything!

I was looking at Tecumseh and south....Steinauer, Burchard. Pawnee City. Kansas line appears to be about 30 miles south of Tecumseh. Not wanting to be as far east as Missouri.

Thanks

Pete
