Default What are your favorite parts of Nebraska?

Mine are Omaha and the Eastern part of the State in Pierce county where my Grandparents live. Yours?

I love Omaha, but I haven't explored the western part of NE yet... I love taking the "back roads" when I travel. When I drove from Omaha back to Sioux Falls, I took Dodge Road to Highway 275 to Fremont, and Highway 77 back to Sioux City. It was a nice drive...

Personally my favorite places in Nebraska seem to be the Eastern north eastern part of the state, especially around Norfolk Beemer West point. Theres a lot of back roads to travel, lots to see, and great things to do.

Well, I live in the south central part of the state, I enjoy going to Lincoln and Omaha for shopping and entertainment, a lot of my family is in the Sandhills and a lot of my wifes family is in the southwestern part of the state, and I love the bluffs of the panhandle because I like that ruggeded landscape. Guess that leaves the northeast part of the state, just don't have the reasons to visit that often, but been to Divots in Norfolk several times for things.

Hows that for a politically correct answer.

Having lived all over the state, I've had a lot of places I liked... I like the Niobrara valley, all the way east of about Kilgore. I like the Bohemian Alps. I love the Pine Ridge. I like the Wildcats. I like hills around Verdigre...

But I have to say the western Sandhills are my favorite.
Western Cherry co/eastern Sheridan co./Grant co...
The big, rough hills. The Sandhills lakes. Sparsely populated. Honest, outgoing, friendly people. So much wildlife racket it'll keep you awake at night... I miss living there.
Definately the western Sandhills are where I'd pick if I had to choose one area.

Hard to say... love the Niobrara area, SandHills, Pine Ridge, but also like Eastern Nebraska... all for different reasons - guess its why I just like Nebraska and really encourage folks to get out and explore the state.

I was stationed at Lincoln AFB from 1963-66. I loved the city, the people, and the University of N. football games. I loved Robbie's and the Hob Nob...but they are probably no longer around....there was a drive-in restaurant on O street that had the best burgers and spicy salad dressing...you pulled into an area that had a roof over the parking area...don't remember its name. Pioneer Park for cheap golf.

There was a Husky gas station and diner out by the base that had the best breakfasts...HUGE sausage patties and great hashed browns.

I like the western part - going west from North Platte and the panhandle area.
