Default Economically Free States - NE 12th

I can't provide the source for this study (since I lost it), but do have this snipet regarding the report

Quote:
A new study has declared Texas and Delaware the most economically free states in the nation, but Nebraska has also earned high marks. The rankings the Fraser Institute produced are based on the size of government, the level of taxes, property rights and how many restrictions are placed on the free market. Fraser says states with more economic freedom tend to have stronger economies and produce more.

Nebraska ranked 12th in economic freedom, and the think tank says Nebraska tied for the fourth-fastest growth in economic freedom between 2000 and 2005. North Dakota posted the most growth in economic freedom during that time. Nebraska tied with South Dakota, Iowa, Nevada and Florida for fourth.

Found it... here is the link to the press release regarding the Economic Freedom of North America: 2008 Annual Report
Residents of Delaware and Texas enjoy highest levels of economic freedom, West Virginians face the lowest

Quote:
“Economic freedom is one of the main drivers of prosperity and growth. States with low levels of economic freedom reduce the ability of their citizens to prosper economically, leaving people poorer than they need be,”

.....

"... it’s interesting to note that the states with the best record of economic freedom are predominately in the western half of the country.”

Between 2000 and 2005, North Dakota had the fastest growth in economic freedom with Wyoming and Montana tied for second. South Dakota, Nevada, Nebraska, Iowa, and Florida tied for fourth
