Cool Scot in Ericson

No I haven't, but apparently my father-in-law did. His widow just told her youngest son that his father named him after his mistress in Ericson. hmmm..... he was just wondering if there was any truth in the story or if it was just the babblings of his elderly mother.

LAMosher,

Are you being serious? Or is this a joke of some sort? I can't think of anyone named Scot, but I'll keep thinking. If something pops in my head I'll post it.

I'm truely serious! I'm not sure what the point would be of telling him all this now. I'm sort of curious if there were any young'ns from the relationship if it really happened. I dabble in genealogy, and this would certainly put a new twist in the family tree.

LAMosher,

Well, I spoke with my folks and they said there are some Scott's who live about 15 to 20 minutes from Ericson. I'm not sure if that's a coincidence or not. I guess one important thing is the spelling. You listed it as Scot, but they said the family they know spells their name: Scott. Hopefully, this helps.

I live in and love Omaha!! The reasons why small towns get alot of crap is because there is a generalization that small town people are very clique and very conservative religeous people that are race-hating, homo-hating, anything but christian religeon hating, and progressive hating people, however, it is my experience that small town people are VERY friendly they just are not around people of another race, homos, or anyone that isn't christian very often, and change in the small town is few and far in-between until recently anyway, the small-town rural areas are right now experiencing a flip-flop in lifestyle... Just based off of my experience... and I am not saying how small town people ARE like this... I know that small-town people do want what is best and you can see that they are real genuine people...

Especially Fremont. You would think the size of the town would be more tolerant towards others but they are still the same fanatics who would rather disassociate themselves from others if not in agreement with their standards. Hanging out at social gatherings in Fremont made me miss Omaha desperately and wanting to get the hell out of dodge.

I live in Lincoln but originally am from Grand Island, NE. I've enjoyed Lincoln quite a bit more than I did GI. Lincoln is a great college town.
