Default Interracial families in Lincoln?

Do interracial families have any trouble in Lincoln or Nebraska in general? Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

I live in Lincoln and am friends with quite a few interracial couples. I asked them and they all have said that they haven't come across really anything negative. There will always be those people that look at you weird, they said, but for the most part everyone in Lincoln, and in Nebraska for that matter, has been nothing but supportive.
My sister is in an interracial relationship and has two mixed children. She has never come across any trouble with it.

I think you are going to run into minor issues anywhere ... a lot of people feel children of interracial marriage get confused on where they fit in. It's not always an issue of racism.

Yes, Lincoln, Nebraska has it's problems. I have had the neighborhood youth try to burn a cross next to my house. I've had white people call me the N name, right in front of my house, on my lawn. My grown children have had their white relatives threaten them harmin front of their bi-racial children and have disowned their grandchildren. I do not know where these other bloggers live, but I'm telling you Lincoln does have problems, I could share more, but I do not like bringing up actions that cause me to feel sad and fearful.

Not really. I grew up in Kearney (which is pretty much a small Lincoln) and my parents are different races. We didn't have any trouble about that; in fact it never even occured to me that there'd be the possibility of trouble.

Our daughter has a lovely couple that are neighbors to them in Lincoln that would be interracial. They fit in the neighborhood very well from what I have witnessed and are quite accepted. Of course they are an outgoing couple with great personalities. We have personally barbequed with them a couple times while visiting our daughter and been to a local neighborhood party with them also. Great little family for sure.

I am biracial, grew up in Grand Island, and would say it's probably most unusual to see a white/white couple there. Very diverse, especially among young people. Hispanic, or biracial is the norm in Grand Island, I assure you.
