Wildlife Management
I am a wildlife management student and plan on working for the government. What are good ideas as far as relocation, pay, cost of living, etc?
Also, I plan on furthering my education by getting a masters in wildlife biology. I think that should affect where I accept a job at.

The cost of living in Nebraska will be relatively cheap, but wages will be lower than in some other states. Of course, if you plan to go into wildlife management work for the government, you must be planning on getting rich anyway.
Nebraska is pretty diverse as far as wildlife and terrain from east to west, believe it or not.
There aren't too many Federal wildlife jobs in Nebraska, but USFW does have a couple of facilities with staff.
Your best best would be with the state Game & Parks ( www.outdoornebraska.org) or some of the larger NRDs may have biologist positions. This site ( Nebraska's NRDs - Nebraska Association of Resources Districts) links to all the state's NRDs.
Honestly, having a Master's won't help you much in the beginning. You'll pretty much start entry level state or Federal. It would help your promotional opportunities later, however.

Why work for the government? Why not look at Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, or Delta Waterfowl, National Wild Turkey Federation, etc. There are several of those positions available in the mid-west.

Good thought, but one trend lately has been for DU, PF, etc to partner with states and pay for the position, but for the biologist to be a state employee. It saves DU, PF, etc money in the long run, because they don't have to pay the benefits, provide office space, etc.
Not to say those jobs don't exist with those organizations, but you'll probably see less of them in the future.
