Bariateric and Hip surgery hospitals (Omaha, Lincoln: insurance, university, moving to)

My wife and I are pretty sure we well be moving to McCook NE in the next 12 to 18 months and I well be getting the Bariateric (sp) surgery and then left hip replacement when ready and need to know of an excellent hospital to have these done in.

I grew up in McCook so know it isn't up to my speed of what I want. I'm thinking Grand Island, Lincoln, Omaha or Denver, CO. I well be on full disabillity and covered by that insurance, and told by my Dr's that the weight surgery is medically necessary to get hip surgery.

First of all good luck with the move and surgeries. I would say that Kearney or Grand Island would fit your needs. Both are really nice medical facilties. Grand Island recently built a new tower and offers some really nice services.

You might also check out Great Plains in North Platte, if you haven't as it would be a little closer to McCook. Otherwise plenty of good hospitals in Lincoln, Omaha and the Denver metro.

Creighton University Medical Center (CUMC) has been named a Bariatric Center of Excellence by the American Society for Bariatric Surgery (ASBS). The ASBS Center of Excellence designation recognizes surgical programs and surgeons with a demonstrated track record of favorable outcomes and a complication rate of less than one percent in bariatric surgery. Creighton University Medical Center is one of only two Nebraska hospitals to be designated as an ASBS Center of Excellence.

Sorry I don't know the other two hospitals that are COE's.
